Aditya Roy Kapur’s new chiselled look for ‘Fitoor’

Apparently body sculpting is the new fitness mantra. Gone are the days when actors underwent rigorous training to flaunt six-pack or eight-pack abs. Aditya Roy Kapoor, who hasn’t beefed up even a bit, has taken a different route to show-off a well-toned physique in Fitoor. The actor opted for body sculpting which is the process used to tone one’s body muscles to perfection. An extremely exhausting process, the actor had to first work towards losing muscle mass and then reducing body fat. It took the actor months to get the right body type for his character in the film.

Aditya Roy Kapur

Aditya Roy Kapoor said, “I have been following this regime on and off for a year-and-a-half now. After filming some sequences, I let go a little bit and I had to lose weight all over again, which was quite frustrating. So I’ve learnt that this lifestyle has to be consistent.” (As said to the Indian Express)

When asked about the do’s and don’ts of body sculpting Aditya said, “Well, the dos are drink lots of water, get enough fibre and carbs as well, as they are important. The don’ts are don’t be too extreme with any diet, it can really end up harming your system and immunity. Also, one cheat meal is fine but keep it at one because if you do another then it’s a slippery slope.”

An adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic novel Great Expectations, Fitoor tells the story of young Kashmiri boy Noor, his muse Firdaus and a mercurial Begum, through love lost and realised over the course of two generations. Thirteen-year-old Noor, an impressionable shikara boy living by the piers of Kashmir’s Dal Lake, is lured into the world of the Begum – the wealthiest woman in town.

Young Noor falls in love with the Begum’s daughter, Firdaus – a beautiful child who has been raised to break hearts. Suffering from a broken heart herself, the Begum finds her mark in Noor. Noor begins to obsess over Firdaus, someone who belongs to a world completely different from his. Seasons change and Noor leaves his hometown to move to the city of Delhi to build his career as an artist. He strives to be accepted into the sophisticated social circles that Firdaus is a part of in a quest to win her love, while the Begum plots retribution on their young and innocent love.

Interview: “I have to work harder now” – Jacqueline Fernandez

Bollywood star Jacqueline Fernandez will be seen in UK cinemas from today in the much awaited Salman Khan action comedy, Kick.

Kick is helmed by popular producer-turned-director Sajid Nadiadwala, with the screenplay written by Sajid Nadiadwala and acclaimed author Chetan Bhagat.  The film also stars Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Mithun Chakraborty and a special appearance by Nargis Fakhri.

The former Miss Sri Lanka Universe spoke to Bollywood Reporter Sunny Malik about the film, her co-star, love for London and her upcoming concert at The 02…

You have had huge success with Race 2 last year. Soon after you were signed for Roy with Ranbir Kapoor, Kick opposite Salman Khan and as the face of ‘The Body Shop’ in India. Your life has changed quite a bit…
It is definitely an extremely great time for me. I know that every movie and project is exciting but with Kick, it is a completely different experience because it is the biggest movie of my career. It’s just WOW for me! I have worked extremely hard on this movie, the hardest I have ever worked. But I haven’t had the time to allow it to sink in, that I am doing something which is so huge. We just wrapped up the movie a few weeks ago and I just finished dubbing for the film too. You have no idea, everything just seems like a dream to me. I am on cloud nine and exploding (laughs). From the trailer launch to the song launches, it’s weird but I had the same feeling I had during Aladin, my first feature film. When I watch the promos of Kick, I feel like this is the first time I have ever seen myself on screen. It’s really cool.

Jacqueline Fernandez in Kick - UK Interview (2)There were strong rumours of another actress being cast for the film last year. Suddenly it was announced that you were the leading lady opposite Salman Khan. Was it hidden from the public or did it happen all of a sudden?
It happened overnight. It happened in slow motion for me (laughs).  I was called to Sajid Nadiwala’s office for a meeting. I presumed it was a meeting for anything else but Kick. I would never have thought that I’ll meet him for a role in Kick. I worked with him twice before and know that he makes good cinema. He suddenly offered me Kick and I was completely shocked. It was the least expected thing that ever happened to me. When there were rumours floating about who the actress will be in the film, usually I would wish for it to come to me or dream about being a part of the movie. At that time, Kick seemed so big to me that I didn’t even dream about it. I thought that were was no point in even dreaming (laughs). That was my attitude. I don’t know what amazing Karma I had in order for me to get this opportunity. It was a shocker.

Everyone wants to work with Salman Khan… He even recently tweeted about you to his 7.45 million followers…
He follows me on Twitter now, which is the coolest thing that ever happened in my life (laughs). A few weeks ago he tweeted that Jacqueline Fernandez will release the song Jumme Ki Raat, without tagging me in it. Just because he tweeted my name, my Twitter following increased by about 300,000 people. I was in shock and couldn’t believe it. Now he has followed me and I am scared to check my Twitter because it might crash (laughs).

Salman Khan has also lent his voice to the soundtrack of Kick… Were you surprised that he sings?
It’s amazing. Is there anything that Salman Khan can’t do? He is an all-rounder artist. He can do it all. When I heard him in ‘Hangover’, I was surprised because he has such an incredible voice.

It’s also the first time that you are dubbing your dialogues in Hindi… that must have been a tough task?
Honestly, throughout the year it has been a gradual process of just working hard and being consistent. I believe that is why I got a film like Kick. Even though I didn’t expect it, I knew that I was someone who was working hard. I was going to my Hindi classes and there was never a point where I wanted to give up. I was constantly analysing what else I can do and was meeting people for work. What I have learnt now is that you have to be consistent in your work. Even now, just because I have got a big movie, doesn’t mean that I can sit back and enjoy. I possibly have to even work harder now. I am obviously prepared to do it because it’s something I am doing ever since I am here working in the Indian Film Industry. I take my work very seriously and I am also enjoying it as well. It’s beautiful when you enjoy what you do.

Jacqueline Fernandez in Kick - UK Interview (5)You also came to London to shoot for the film but the schedule didn’t go ahead because of Salman’s visa issues.
I went mad when I was in London as I explored it quite a lot. Sajid Nadiwala was in Glasgow to shoot some actions scenes with Randeep Hooda. We were in London and as soon as our shopping spree was over, we were told that the schedule has been cancelled. It was still amazing though. We were shopping for the movie but we had a lot of fun all the time and were buying stuff for ourselves.

What new areas of London did you explore?
I went to all the markets like Portobello Road. I visited quite a few vintage markets and antique stores. Besides the usual visits to Harrods, I had afternoon tea, which sounds clichéd but I had to do it (laughs). We also checked out some amazing clubs. I also went to The Arts Club which was nice. It was the best time I have ever spent in London because we had free time and weren’t just shooting for a movie every day.

You are also a part of Bollywood Showstoppers, the concert taking place at The 02 in London on 3rd August…
I am excited for that. It’s in London and that is always a good reason. I also like the mix of people who are a part of it like Shahid Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Ali Zafar. I love performing and I am so excited to be in a show with my contemporaries. I have never performed in London. I can’t wait to maybe dance to ‘Jumme Ki Raat’. It should be fun. We have been working on the look and styling and have recently started rehearsing too with the choreographers from London.

KICK releases in UK cinemas on 25th July 2014.

Interview: Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor talk about ‘2 States’

Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor were in London recently to promote their upcoming movie, 2 States.

Bollywood Reporter Sunny Malik caught up with the duo and spoke about the film, an adaptation of the best-selling novel of the same name by Chetan Bhagat.

UTV Motion Picture releases the Dharma Productions and Nadiawala Grandson production in UK cinemas on 18th April 2014.

This is the first time you are promoting a film in the UK. How is it going?
Arjun: I am just meeting people one by one in the room here just like I do when I promote my films in India. It doesn’t feel like I am in London and I am going to take it up with my distributors as to why they didn’t make the interviews happen out in the open (smiles). But it feels really nice to come here as an actor for the first time. I have travelled to London many times in the past as an assistant director or pleasure as I have many friends here.

You both are meeting fans at Cineworld Feltham later. Did you tell Arjun of what he should expect?
Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor in London (1)
Alia: I have been there once before my first film, Student Of The Year, released and nobody really knew us. But the fans were very warm people (laughs).

Arjun, you don’t seem impressed…
Arjun: It’s not that I am not impressed. I just find it very surreal that people will take out the time to come and meet me. I have seen it happen with stars like Salman Khan. I have seen him not able to take one step forward because of huge crowds who were there to see him. That is true stardom and I find it surreal when something like that happens to me.

Arjun, the co-producer of the film, Karan Johar, said that Sajid Nadiawala was taken aback by his suggestion to cast you in the film. How did everything fall into place?
Arjun: Sajid Nadiwala was always passionate about making 2 States into a movie. A lot of A-list actors and directors showed interest but nothing ever materialised. When my debut film, Ishaqzaade, released Karan Johar loved it and so did the director of 2 States, Abhishek Varman. I was called into the Dharma Productions office and I read the script. I loved it and I was on board from that day. Sajid Nadiwala has seen me growing up and hanging around at Salman Khan’s house. We have taken holidays together and know each other well. I think, he was just taken aback that “Oh the time has come when Arjun is going to act in a film produced by Nadiawala Grandson.” More than anything, it was an overwhelming feeling for him that this boy he has seen growing up, will be starring in his production. I am really happy that both producers, Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiwala, showed faith in me.

Alia, were you always the first choice for the film?
Alia: I am sure I wasn’t (laughs). I was still filming for Student Of The Year and I was very young at that time. I was called in for a look test for 2 States and I really thank Abhishek Varman, the director, for having that faith in me. When I read the book, I never thought that I will be playing this character on-screen eventually. It’s his faith in me as an artist and performer that got me onto this film.

Alia, were you bothered that people were criticising Karan Johar’s decision to cast you in the film? Many fans felt that you don’t look Tamilian…
Alia: No, it didn’t bother me at all. People can be sceptical or think it’s great. At the end of the day, when I am in front of the camera, I am not Alia Bhatt, I am Ananya. I try as much as possible to be her and stay true to her. Also, being a fan of the original book, I never took it granted even for a minute that this role came to me. It was up to me to deliver my best and now when the film releases, it is up to the audience whether they accept me or not.

Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor in London (3)Arjun, fans usually get disappointed when their favourite book is turned into a movie. How do you think this film will come across to the die-hard fans of 2 States and to people who have not read the book?
Arjun: Our director, Abhishek Varman knows that there is a huge fan following of the book and he kept the script very close to the source. He himself loved the book a lot. There is an old saying, ‘If it aint broke, don’t fix it’. He pretty much followed the flow that Chetan Bahagat wrote. Also for people who have not read the book, like me, you have to find a correlation so that people relate to these characters. He has balanced that really well and intelligently. He made it for a universal audience. 2 States is eventually a love story about two families. Two people can be in love but in our culture it is very important to be accepted by your families. The film is very relatable for someone who has not read the book and also for someone who has.

Alia, you get really irritated when people ask you about the kissing scenes shown in the trailer. Why is it such a big deal if you are kissing?
Alia: The minute you are candid and honest about how it doesn’t matter that suddenly becomes the centre of attention. They say it’s refreshing for you to be honest and not say ‘I did it because it was a part of the script’. But now every newspaper is only writing about the kiss. It is annoying because 2 States is not just about the kiss. It’s a family film and not about these two people constantly making out. We have to show the kiss in the film because it’s important in the book. Also, when people live together they kiss. How prudish can you be if you are living together but you don’t kiss?
Arjun: When two people are in love, they kiss. It’s really normal. The fact that we treat it so normally, is absurd for people.
Alia: There were rumours about us dating and journalists want to confirm the rumour by writing that they enjoy kissing each other which means they are a couple. I mean, if we were dating why would we say something like that?
Arjun: If we had said, we hated kissing each other, even that would be the headline. Eventually, when you use the word kiss, it will make it to the headline. It doesn’t matter if I have given 17 other answers as the kiss question will be the focus of the interview.

Alia meeting fansDon’t you both feel that when the press is focused so much about the kiss and the trailer shows intimate scenes, it can put off family audiences, especially here in the UK?
Alia: The families are on the poster and the film is not just about two people. The film is whole different world altogether and not about just about intimacy.
Arjun: Any sensible viewer, who watches the trailer, will know that the film is not just about kissing for three hours. It’s an aspect that comes and goes in the film. Trust me, all that you see in the film, is already out there in the trailer. I don’t think our audiences are so naive to believe the headlines that are being written about the film being all about kissing scenes. I trust our audience.

How do you feel this film will do at the UK Box Office now that films with newcomers are releasing more frequently here and some do well like ‘Highway’?
Alia: Highway was trending in the UK on Twitter on the day of release. I was very happy. I hope 2 States does well and I hope that book fans add to our audience.
Arjun: The UK has always been a very family oriented audience. This film truly represents that audience base. It is made for that audience. For me, Gunday was my big international release. I think, there is hope now that people are coming to cinemas to watch new faces now. With films like Highway, Hasee Toh Phasee or Gunday doing well here. It is a very star driven industry anyways and you need to keep working to change the audiences’ mind set to come and watch it. I am very hopeful that people will come out of the suburbs of England to the cinemas to watch the film.

Arjun Kapoor’s look similar to his director Abhishek Varman.

In Dharma Productions’ 2 States Arjun Kapoor’s look is pretty similar to his director Abhishek Varman.

9. Abhishek Varman

Abhishek Varman is making his debut as a director with the film based on Chetan Bhagat’s best-selling novel but has been working behind the scenes for a few years. Abhishek was an assistant director on My Name Is Khan (like Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan) and was also the creative director of Student Of The Year.

It could be anything from hairstyle, spectacles, outfits or could be the design and patterns right from the subdued colours and styling for the character of Krish Malhotra, played by Arjun Kapoor. All these aspects have been taken from how Abhishek Varman the director of the film is in real life.

Produced by Sajid Nadiawala and Karan Johar, the film will release in UK cinemas on 18th April through Disney UTV.

Alia Bhatt sings for ‘Highway’

Imtiaz Ali, Alia Bhatt and A R Rahman at a song recording for Highway

She’s not only the film’s leading lady but Alia Bhatt has sung one of the songs in Imtiaz Ali’s soon to release film, Highway. The music of the film has been composed by the maestro A.R. Rahman and he’s got Alia to sing a very soulful lullaby, Sooha Saha. Zeb Bangash, of the famous Pakistani duo Zeb & Haniya, shares vocals with Alia in the song.

In the film Veera (Alia’s character) and Mahabir (played by Randeep) take the road and traverse through six states of northern India. As the journey moves from the plains of Panjab to the hills of Himachal, Veera sings this lullaby, which reminds Mahabir of his childhood. Both Imtiaz and Rahman agreed that if Alia sang a stanza herself, it would add more poignance to the scene.

“We have this lullaby, Sooha Saha in Highway..Imtiaz said Alia has a great voice and I didn’t trust him. Then she learned the song and sang to me and I was pretty impressed with her natural ability too. We guided her a little bit to perfect the singing. She did it twice and then we got it almost right and now it sounds great,” says A.R. Rahman

An excited Alia Bhatt adds, “It was unreal.. I am a bathroom singer but to have the opportunity to sing a song composed by Rahman sir was unbelievable.. This film is so close to my heart not just for acting but for singing too now! “

Highway, produced by Window Seat Films and presented by Sajid Nadiadwala, will be released worldwide by UTV Motion Pictures. The music of the film will be available on T-Series.

Highway
will release in UK cinemas on 21st February, 2014.

‘Patakha Guddi’ from ‘Highway’ by A.R. Rahman released

The first song of Imtiaz Ali’s Highway, Patakha Guddi, has been released by Disney UTV and T-series.

The music of the film has been composed by Oscar-award winning music composer A.R. Rahman and ever since the film’s trailer came out, all eyes and ears have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the soundtrack.

Patakha Guddi, written by Irshad Kamil and sung by the Nooran sisters from Panjab, is picturised on Highway’s leading lady, Alia Bhatt, who plays the role of Veera in the film. As she traverses through the roads of northern India, Veera gradually comes into her own and lets loose. Patakha Guddi celebrates her free spirit.

Alia Bhatt shooting for Highway in Ferozpur, PunjabSays Imtiaz: “Patakha Guddi is about freedom. It is also about purity and wildness. Who better than the wild children of Panjabi music – Sultana and Jyoti Nooran – to sing the track? After Rockstar, it was great to collaborate with Rahman Sir again and we have tried to keep the Highway album melodious, simple and heartfelt.”

Adds lyricist Irshad Kamil: “Patakha Guddi gives the fragrance of Punjab with its piousness and free spirit. The lyrics take the flight according to the growth of Veera’s (Alia) character in the film. The song has raw energy in its composition, singing and even in the choice of words.”

Highway, produced by Window Seat Films and presented by Sajid Nadiadwala, will be released worldwide and in UK cinemas by UTV Motion Pictures on 21st February 2014.

The music of the film will be available on T-Series.

Tiger Shroff – The most promising, young face of 2014

Tiger Shroff_Heropanti (1)This New Year will see Tiger Shroff making his much awaited Bollywood debut in Heropanti.

Tiger is certainly one of the most promising newcomers of 2014. The debutante has been working hard for his acting debut, putting in his best to deliver a remarkable performance. Having honed his skills in martial arts and dance from a really young age, the young actor will be seen giving life to an off the edge character and some adrenaline-filled action scenes in the movie.

Director Sabbir Khan made sure that the young actor underwent rigorous workshops and extensive training before the film went on floors, and that Tiger started shooting only when he was absolutely ready to.

Looking forward to the release of Heropanti, Tiger Shroff commented, “It’s been a really long journey, firstly of understanding the movies and the craft and then immersing myself totally into the character and becoming it. Following that began the actual shooting … So yes I am really eager to see how the entire team’s hard work comes across, especially since it was a cast and crew that was entirely new.”

Tiger Shroff_Heropanti (2)Director Sabbir Khan said, “It’s been an exciting journey. Apart from Tiger and Kriti being newcomers, the rest of the cast and crew are relatively freshers. In fact, the average age of the unit was about 23/24yrs. The shoot shifted from Punjab to Mumbai and from Delhi to Kashmir. We’ve shot for endless hours but the energy and spunk of the unit was infectious and I think we’ve given it our all.”

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala said, “It’s the first time that my banner is launching newcomers, but I am happy it’s come at the right time and with the right script. Tiger is extremely talented and focused, an amazing combination for a young newcomer. We firmly believe in this star of tomorrow.”

Directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film also marks the debut of Kriti Sanon with Tiger Shroff. Heropanti is slated to release on May 16, 2014.

‘Heropanti’ shoot commences in Mumbai

Tiger Shroff (3)

A little more salt for Alia

Alia Bhatt Shooting for Highway at Aru Valley, Kashmir, 12-05-2013Shooting for Imtiaz Ali’s Highway has taken Alia Bhatt to several places in north India, be it Kashmir or Punjab.

Rajasthan also plays an important role in the film. One of the places the film’s crew set up, their shoot was a salt factory in Sambhar (Jaipur).

Born and brought up in a city like Mumbai, the world of Sambhar, where anything and everything has over a pinch of salt, was a revelation for Alia.

Highway took me to all these amazing places that I probably wouldn’t have ever seen otherwise. Sambhar, the salt factory was the most beautiful and the weirdest experience for me. I celebrated my birthday there as well… in many ways, I think it was here that I truly started feeling like Veera (her character in the film),” says Alia.

Highway releases in UK cinemas through Disney UTV on 21st February 2014.

Kunaal Roy Kapur: Redefining Comedy in India

Nautanki Saala - Trailer Launch Kunaal Roy Kapur is increasingly turning into one the actors that the industry can’t do without. Kunaal blew up in the feature film scene with his remarkable performance in Delhi Belly, a black comedy directed by Abhinay Deo. Only one Bollywood film old, Kunaal managed to bag the co-lead with Ayushman Khurana in the Nautanki Saala.

Because of his straight face humour and impeccable timing, Kunaal has managed to carve a niche for himself which is making him the pick of the town for roles with certain quirkiness. After Delhi Belly’s huge success, Kunal Roy Kapur and Vir Das will be seen once again in Kabir Sadanand’s tentatively titled film Gollu Aur Pappu.

Kapur says that this film will be different form their last joint venture, Delhi Belly, “It is going to be a family comedy unlike Delhi Belly, which was an adult comedy. It is a bromance and hopefully people especially kids will like it.”

Kunaal choosing not to divulge too much about the film went on to state “People know me for my comedy, hence most of the roles offered to me are in the comic space. But, I don’t want to limit myself; I would take up any interesting role that comes my way. The script is of prime importance, so if the script is interesting, I will agree to do the film.”

Viacom is still has refrained from letting the names of the leading ladies to come out and will be making the announcement shortly themselves.

Meanwhile, Kapur will be seen doing a cameo in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani which releases on 31st May in UK cinemas.

On a different front, Kunnal is busy finalizing the cast of his directorial venture. Kunaal talking about his second outing as a director says, “dark comedy set in Mumbai and will have a social message to it.”

The film will go on the floors by the end of this year.

Interview: Saif Ali Khan talks about ‘Race 2’

Saif Ali Khan - London - Race 2 (1)Saif Ali Khan spoke to BollyNewsUK in London last week about his upcoming action packed thriller Race 2 – a film by Abbas-Mustan.

Khan will be seen reprising the role of Ranveer Singh in the sequel to UK hit Race (2008). The plot in the sequel moves at a reckless speed as friends turn foes at the drop of a hat, from one locale to another with unexpected twists and turns taking forward the legacy of Race.

In this candid quick chat, the 42-year-old actor talks about the year ahead, the ladies in Race 2 and much more…

How was your honeymoon with Kareena Kapoor Khan? You were in Gstaad (Switzerland) and then came to London.
It was very good. We were in Switzerland in Gstaad. It is a lovely place, like a fairy tale village. Kareena is very fond of it and I love it too. The air there is so clean and nice. We were waking up, exercising and then we went into an outdoor pool surrounded by the Alps, which looks absolutely stunning. Afterwards, we would go for a walk in town, take lots of DVD’s and watch some nice TV shows in the afternoon and get ready for the evening.  They have really quaint and beautiful restaurants with some amazing and healthy food. We did this for about two weeks, which was great. Then, we came to London where the drinking and eating has gotten a little bit out of hands (laughs). It’s time to get back on the wagon. We have fallen back a bit in London.

What are you expecting from the year ahead?

I have a good film (Race 2) releasing in the beginning of the year. I am starting work and shooting for Bullet Raja, which I am feeling very happy about. I am feeling quite confident professionally. I am working in films that I enjoy and I am in an environment that I enjoy. I love my job and love the fact that you have to behave, be spartan in your diet and look after yourself. I am also very much looking forward to doing up our new apartment in Mumbai. It will be a real labour of love for me to set up that house. I would also like to renovate our family home in Pataudi this year.

Saif Ali Khan - London - Race 2 (5)Tell me about working with the actresses in Race 2.

Ameesha..
Ameesha and I did not really have much to do. She has played a cute kind of role in the film. It is a bit of a difficult role because you have to be ditzy and charming but at the same time quite sexy. She has to wear high heels, short skirts like a classic blonde except that she is not blonde (laughs). She is brilliant though and it was great fun.

Jacqueline Fernandez..
Jacqueline, I think, is playing a star making role. I hope I am right in thinking so. Like what happened to Katrina Kaif after Race. I don’t know if it will happen to her. Kaif’s song (Zara Zara Touch Me) was something else and she knew it. I remember she bought this dress and said I just want to kill it. Jacqueline has also been given the same platform. She has killed it as well. Let’s see what happens.

Deepika Padukone..
It is not the first time that I am working with Deepika Padukone. It was fun. She looked a little shell-shocked sometimes because Abbas-Mustan have a unique way of communicating and speak very slowly and softly. They don’t say too much. I have seen her with Homi and Imtiaz, who are more like friends and will talk a lot and hold your hand and teach you how it should be done. Whereas, Abbas-Mustan will say ‘Thoda Aur Sexy Karo’ (Do it sexier [while directing a scene]) (laughs). I would laugh and would say go for it. But again, she approached it right and added some complexity and depth to her character, which is why I say that she will go very far. It is almost a negative role but she has given it sympathy. I was happy to have shared this with her as well.

Saif Ali Khan - London - Race 2 (4)

There were reports that you ignored Deepika after she had left Race 2 due to date issues.
No! What rubbish! It is none of my business. You know, there are some things that irritate me that won’t irritate other people, but this is not one of them. I would never get irritated if a co-star had their own reasons for doing whatever want to do. It is nothing personal. It has to do with the director and the production. I am happy she did it. If she had not done it, someone else would have done Race 2 but maybe not someone as good as her.

A lot of people did not really like your dance moves in ‘Lat Lag Gayee’. Were you a bit apprehensive while doing them?
I was very much so. I did not really think that it was part of the character. I think they should just cut me out of it because Jacqueline looks great. But YouTube and these guys, they bitch out almost anything. I think most of them have no lives apart from sitting there and commenting. It’s a bit too much sometimes. But it is always great to get feedback and I have a healthy relationship with the internet. I don’t take it too seriously but at the same time I do think maybe I should sharpen up my steps.

Produced by Tips Films, an Abbas-Mustan directorial, Race 2, starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor and Ameesha Patel releases in UK cinemas on 25th January 2013.
