Divya Dutta nominated for ‘Gippi’ & ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’

DivyaDivya Dutta had a magnificent 2013, as she was seen playing powerful characters in some of the most noteworthy films of the year. In recognition of her hard work and remarkable performance, it has been raining praises for her. She has been nominated for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role category, at the Star Guild Awards 2014 and 59th Idea Filmfare Awards.

20th Annual Screen Awards 2014 has named Divya among the nominees for both Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Gippi.

Divya has been appreciated as Milkha Singh’s sister Ishri Kaur in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, a role which moved actor Farhan Akhtar to tears. This challenging role, which was essayed by the talented actor with grace, was also lauded by the audience.

The talented actor also played the role of a doting single parent in Gippi and convincingly won the audiences’ hearts with her endearing performance. Divya effortlessly expressed an extensive range of emotions that a mother goes through. The film shows a heart-warming mother-daughter bond between Divya Dutta and Riya Vij, which is beautifully laid out on-screen. Divya had earlier mentioned that she was inspired by her mother to play this character.

Commenting on her multiple nominations, the ecstatic actor said, “It’s always lovely to have your work recognized. 2013 was a good year for me, and I feel really fortunate to have had the opportunity to portray such diverse and powerful characters.”

Apart from this, Divya was seen in the critically-acclaimed films like Special 26 and Zilla Ghaziabad last year, and won many accolades for her sincere performance.

Sonam and Farhan to visit UK for ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’

Bhaag Milkha BhaagDVK has partnered with the acclaimed film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag co-produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and ROMP Picture’s and distributed internationally by Reliance Entertainment, as the Global Partner for the film’s eagerly anticipated UK tour.

Taking place in July, the international tour for the film will see stars Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor, director of BAFTA nominated film Rang De Basanti Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, writer Prasoon Joshi and Milkha Singh himself in attendance.

 Bhaag Milkha Bhaag tells the incredible true-life story of Milkha Singh, aka ‘The Flying Sikh’, who is forever enshrined in India’s psyche as one of the country’s most loved and esteemed sporting heroes. Many recall Milkha Singh as a world champion in the 400 meters, who infamously lost the penultimate race of his life – the 400 meters final at the Rome Olympics – but won in life.

Ever the innovative entrepreneur, Deepak Kuntawala recently chartered new territory when he established DVK Global Entertainment Investment, to nurture and finance unique global entertainment projects. The fund is governed by leading international law firm Mishcon De Reya and structured by the world’s largest professional services firm Pricewaterhouse Coopers. The fund’s first heavyweight project was its title sponsorship of An Evening with Pacino, which brought the award-winning icon Al Pacino to the London stage. The partnership with Bhaag Milkha Bhaag marks the fund’s official launch in July 2013 and its entry into the Indian film industry

Milkha Singh’s life is a portrait of professional triumph over personal tragedy. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag attempts to understand a catastrophic loss that was deemed a sure victory and explores through the darkness of disgrace Milkha Singh’s redemption and catharsis that came when he confronted his past. This iridescent tale winds through the plagues of a bloody civil war where Milkha’s family were brutally killed during the violent and tumultuous India-Pakistan Partition era resulting in a lost childhood, homelessness, to a life of petty crime and victories hard won and easily lost.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag releases worldwide on 12th July 2013 through Reliance Entertainment.

Divya Dutta makes Farhan Akhtar cry

DivyaDivya Dutta is playing Farhan’s sister in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and seems to be on a high for two back to back releases in July with Lootera and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag coming one after the other.

Also another reason for her to beam is with the recent screenings that were privately held for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, she has been receiving a lot of accolades.

Hearsay is, When Farhan saw the movie, he called Divya to appreciate her performance and said ” I have never cried but u made me cry in this film…”

Also both Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar personally called her to appreciate her performance.

We heard that Divya is extremely touched and all the comments and appreciation mean a lot to her.

The inspirational story is penned by Prasoon Joshi and the soundtrack is composed by the award-winning trio Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy.

Watch: Zinda from ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’

The first track from the film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has been released. 

Zinda will be the window to see Farhan Akhtar’s most anticipated look that has got the masses talking about the movie. Penned by Prasoon Joshi and  composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Zinda has the potential to become the next youth anthem.

Brilliantly written, the lyrics will give the listener a sense of inspiration and encouragement to anyone who aspires to do something great in life. The video prominently features Farhan Akhtar as a young Milkha and shows his struggle to become a champion. Siddharth Mahadevan, Shankar’s son has lent his voice to the song to mark his singing debut in Bollywood.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is one of the most awaited films of 2013. Since the teaser trailer was launched last year, the film has garnered tremendous traction. Produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the movie is slated to release on 12th July 2013.

Bhagh Milkha Bhagh The official first teaser trailer for the new Viacom18 Motion Pictures Pvt film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has released to widespread buzz.

The 90 second trailer shows highlights from the remarkable film along with lead star Farhan Akhtar’s amazing look as central protagonist Milkha Singh, who is known as ‘the flying Sikh’, as he overcame much adversity in his life to triumph both on the athletics track as well as off it.

The film is produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures along with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra (Bafta nominated Rang De Basanti, Delhi-6) who also directs the film, and stars two of Bollywood’s biggest stars Farhan Akhtar (Rock On, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara), who plays Milkha Singh, and Sonam Kapoor (Saawariya, I Hate Luv Storys).

The film features a compelling soundtrack by music supremos Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, and is distributed by India’s leading film and entertainment company Viacom18 Motion Pictures Pvt.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is a real fairy tale story of an average Indian who thought he could outrun the winds…and he did!
