Kapoor along with co-stars Arjun Rampal, Divya Dutta, director Madhur Bhandarkar and producer Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO, UTV-Disney launched the theatrical trailer of Heroine today.
Speaking at the launch, director Madhur Bhandarkar said that Arjun Rampal plays a Bollywood superstar while Kareena plays a star in this much-awaited film.
When asked if the premise of the film is inspired by actors from the fraternity, the director said that seventy percent of the story is inspired from real situations while thirty percent is fiction. The director also admitted that the story has been inspired by people from the Indian film industry.
The heroine of Heroine, Kareena Kapoor plays the character of Mahi Arora. The film, set to release in September, also shows the downfall of Mahi after being quite successful as an actress.
When asked if the 31-year-old Jab We Met star is afraid of her own downfall in the industry, she said: “I am sure that I will be content and happy in my life. But I think, I will be like Zohra Sehgal and will be working till I am ninety.”
“I am not giving up my place for anyone,” added Kareena laughing.
