Yash Raj Films’ Pathaan has broken records at the UK/Ireland Box Office, as we reported yesterday. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer is the first Indian title to cross £3M. The film has dethroned Dhoom:3 to become the highest-grossing Indian film in the UK.
In its second weekend, Pathaan had an increase in locations up from 212 to 228 locations that were polled by comscore during 3rd-5th January.
Pathaan had a smashing weekend collecting £701,103, with a high site average of £3,075.01. The total gross through Sunday 5th January of the film stands at a record-breaking £3,347,070.
Varisu released by Ahimsa Entertainment has slowed down in its fourth weekend. The film played in 11 locations collecting a low £3,378 over the weekend, with a site average of £307.09. The total gross of the film is nevertheless impressive and stands at £848,310.
New Indian releases during the weekend include: Kali Jotta – £ 37,305.63 from 21 locations; Michael – £ 17,345.01 from 35 locations; Thankam – £ 15,109.22 from 38 locations; Writer Padmabhushan – £ 11,178.68 from 9 locations; Run Baby Run – £ 1,224.07 from 11 locations.
