How did Dilwale take over the UK? #DilwaleUKTakeover

Dilwale in LondonDilwale fever hit the United Kingdom in full force last month, as thousands of excited fans got the opportunity to meet the cast of the year’s most awaited Bollywood blockbuster in the English capital.

Kajol, Shah Rukh Khan, Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan the stars of Dilwale, in UK cinemas nationwide now, arrived at famous west-London multiplex Cineworld Feltham in style in a white Rolls Royce and were greeted by frenzied cheers and screams from staunch fans outside.

While the stars worked their way down the red carpet, taking selfies and signing autographs, the host of the evening, Bend It Like Beckham and Eastenders star, Ameet Channa, entertained eager fans inside the foyer of the cinema.

Once inside, the stars took to the stage to thank fans for their support, before breaking out in a rendition of Dilwale’s hit tracks Gerua and Manma Emotion Jaage. Lucky fans were also treated to Shah Rukh Khan reciting dialogues from legendary films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and went crazy when he did his signature dance move.

As part of the #DilwaleUKTakeover, Shah Rukh Khan appeared on ITV’s This Morning, with Holly Willoughby and Eamonn Holmes. There was a full half hour dedicated to Shah Rukh and Kajol on BBC 1’s The One Show, with Alex Jones and Matt Baker, where approximately 4 million viewers tuned in to watch Bollywood’s iconic screen couple. The following morning Shah Rukh and Varun Dhawan were whisked to Sky News for Sunrise with Eamonn Holmes, before continuing their packed day of interviews at the BBC.

On social media, the specially created #DilwaleUKTakeover hashtag took the Dilwale craze to a whole new level, as it was trending in India, Russia, Austria and other parts of Europe.

Throughout London Tube stations, Dilwale posters could be seen, reaching out to millions.

Dilwale is a family entertainer with a perfect blend of action, romance and comedy. The film is produced by Red Chillies Entertainments in association with Rohit Shetty Productions. The film is out in UK cinemas now. Renowned music director, Pritam, composed the music for the official motion picture soundtrack which is released here by Sony Music UK.

Dilwale has already crossed £2 at the UK Box Office and is still going strong!
