Akshay Kumar in ‘Gabbar Is Back’

GIB Teaser Poster After enthralling audiences with the blockbuster action film Rowdy Rathore, international megastar Akshay Kumar returns to screens in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gabbar Is Back’. Recently on Twitter, Akshay Kumar shared an exclusive teaser promo shot, where he sports a rugged and ‘I mean business’ persona, in sync with his depiction of a vigilante.

The new avatar of India’s most loved villain Gabbar has taken the entire nation by storm; the new poster, which was unveiled by Akshay Kumar, shows a tombstone bearing the name ‘Corruption’, with the film’s release date being mentioned as the day corruption ceased and India’s Independence Day being mentioned as the birth date. Recent tweets such as ‘Ab Corruption Ki Ulti Ginti Shuru’ have socially motivated fans, positioning Gabbar Is Back as a vehicle for change in society.

Gabbar is BackIt is said, there’s no one as dangerous as a man on a death wish. Gabbar is a story of a common man,Ajay (Akshay Kumar) wronged by the establishment, who starts the Anti-Corruption Force (ACF) that aims to track down and cease the corrupt strata of society. Gabbar Is Back stars a high profile roster of talent, Akshay Kumar, Sonu Sood and Shruti Hassan in lead roles alongside Prakash Raj and Nikitin Dheer.

The film is directed by Krish, written by A. R. Murugadoss and Shiraz Ahmed and produced by veteran filmmaker Bhansali Productions, along with Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. An underground vigilante army, a secret identity, an elaborate modus…all of these combined make a ‘GABBAR’— a true hero.

Gabbar Is Back is scheduled to release in UK cinemas through Eros International on 1st May 2015.
