The cop universe created by the ace director Rohit Shetty is the first cinematic universe that Indian cinema has seen. Zee Studios International to release ‘Kesari’ in UK cinemas

This March, the roar of 21 Sikh patriots will be heard once again: Megastar Akshay Kumar stars in one of the most highly anticipated films of the year, KESARI. An epic period drama based on an unbelievable true story, KESARI is heading to the cinemas in the UK through Zee Studios on 21st March 2019.

Starring Akshay Kumar, Parineeti Chopra, Bhagyashree, and Mir Sarwar, KESARI is a true testament to bravery, courage and heroism.  The film tells the untold story of the British Indian contingent comprising 21 Sikh soldiers who were attacked by around 10,000 Afghans. The 21 Sikh soldiers decided to hold fort and fight with valour, for a battle which is considered as one of history’s greatest last-stands.

KESARI is directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Sunir Kheterpal. The film is also co-produced by Amar Butala and written by Girish Kohli and Anurag Singh.

The film was shot on location at Wai in Maharashtra and Spiti Valley in India, with no expense spared in recreating the historic battle. Audiences can expect state-of-the-art visual effects blended with live stunts for some of the film’s most exciting scenes. With spectacular choreography, stunning visuals and grand sets, audiences will be transported to the battle of Saragarhi.

KESARI also features a powerful soundtrack, filled with romance and stirring tributes to Sikh pride and power that will rouse the patriot in every audience member.

Speaking about his role in the film, Akshay Kumar said “I have had one of the best times doing the action sequences for KESARI because they were so raw. It was completely out of the world. The very premise of the film is something which swells my chest with pride.”

KESARI promises to inspire audiences with an action packed and poignant story of true bravery, valour and the meaning of sacrifice in the face of overwhelming odds.


Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 4 wraps its first schedule in London 

After much anticipation, the fourth installment of the superhit franchise Housefull went on floors a few weeks ago in the Queen’s city and has already wrapped its first schedule.

One of the most popular franchises in Bollywood, Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull series has always found London at its heart as the earlier films were shot there as well. 

Wrapping the first schedule of 25 days in London, the team celebrated the wrap of the first schedule by cutting two cakes and will now fly down to Rajasthan for the next schedule.

Sajid Khan who had directed the first two films in the Housefull franchise would return to direct the fourth installment in the series. Interestingly his sister Farah Khan was roped in to choreograph a song pictures of which had been making the rounds of the internet piquing the interests of the audience. It was a full house with Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Riteish Deshmukh and Kriti Kharbanda grooving to Farah’s cues. But what gave the song its twist were doppelgangers of the royal family.

Revolving around the theme of reincarnation, the film follows a non-linear narrative and all the flashback sequences will be shot in Rajasthan. A lavishly mounted set is being built in Mumbai for the finale. Chunky Panday, Johnny Lever, Boman Irani and Nana Patekar are also a part of the House.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Housefull 4 will release in UK cinemas around Diwali 2019.

‘Housefull 4’ kicks off in London

Sajid Khan has returned to the Housefull franchise and kicked off the fourth instalment of the film in London. The shoot has started off with choreographer and Sajid’s sister Farah Khan taking out time from her holiday in the English capital to film dance sequences with the large cast.

Housefull 4 sees Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh and Chunky Pandey return to the comedy film and has added Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hedge and Kriti Kharbanda to the cast.

A song composed by Sohail Sen is currently being filmed at locations including Tower Bridge, Greenwich and will feature over 150 background dancers from London. A lavish set has been constructed too and several London buses have been hired for the sequence.  

20th Century Fox will release this Nadiadwala Grandson production in UK cinemas next year.

Akshay Kumar shares on-set picture from ‘Kesari’

KesariAkshay Kumar recently shared the first look from his upcoming film Kesari and it created waves of excitement among fans and the Bollywood fraternity equally.  

The film has already generated anticipation since it was announced and Akshay Kumar heightened our enthusiasm further by sharing his first look from the film as the Sikh Warrior.

The actor recently took to social media to share an adorable picture of him dressed as British-Indian Sikh soldier and his young co-stars playing Afghani kids from the sets of Kesari. He said, “Innocent smiles galore on set today. Shooting with these lovely children playing Afgani kids in #Kesar based on the Battle of Saragrahi, one of the bravest battles fought in India”

Akshay, who is busy experimenting with roles with each passing film, has yet again picked an interesting content-driven story-line for his forthcoming production with Karan Johar. 

Sharing his first look he said, “Feeling nothing but immense pride and gratitude while sharing this. Beginning my 2018 with #KESARI, my most ambitious film and a lot of passion. Need your best wishes as always”.

Kesari is based on the encounter between 21 Sikh soldiers of the British Indian Army and a 10,000-strong troop of Afghani tribesmen in the Saragarhi outpost of the North-West Frontier Province on 12th September 1897. Though vastly outnumbered, the regiment is said to have fought to its death in what is hailed as one of history’s greatest last stands.

Eros International to release Housefull 3 in UK cinemas

Eros International will be releasing Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 3 in UK cinemas on 3rd June 2016.

The much-awaited film stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandes, Lisa Haydon, Nargis Fakhri, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff and Chunky Pandey.

Housefull 3 is directed by duo Farhad-Sajid, who also wrote the second installment of this extremely popular franchise, which was extensively filmed in the United Kingdom.

Housefull 3 is an Eros International presentation, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The laughter riot commences on June 3rd, 2016!

First Look: Akshay Kumar in and as ‘Rustom’

The actor today tweeted his first look from the film where he is pictured looking focused as a Naval Officer, sporting a distinguished moustache.

#RustomFirstLook has been among the top trends on Twitter since it was released.

It is reported that to ensure Akshay Kumar shines in his new role, costume designer Ameira Punvani spent three months working on his distinct look.

Inspired by real-life incidents set in the late ’50s, Rustom is a romantic-thriller written by Neeraj Pandey and Vipul Rawal, and directed by Tinu Suresh Desai. Rustom will mark a hattrick for Neeraj Pandey and Akshay Kumar after delivering two blockbuster hits – Special 26 and Baby. The film also stars Esha Gupta and Ileana D’Cruz and will be shot in Europe.

Rustom releases in cinemas on 12th August 2016.

Akshay Kumar joins hands with WHO


akshay-kumar-good-healthKnown for being an advocate of Good Health and Fitness, international film megastar Akshay Kumar will be featuring in a video campaign by WHO (World Health Organisation) to raise awareness about Diabetes in India – the Diabetic capital of the world.

Diabetes is part of the World Health Organisation’s mission to prevent diabetes whenever possible, encourage prevention and to raise awareness.

The Maharashtra Government approached Akshay Kumar to appear in the video, which will be directed by Rajkumar Hirani and released on World Health Day on April 7th.

Akshay Kumar and Rajkumar Hirani have been discussing ideas for the video, which is expected to be shot this week in Mumbai.

An initiative by the state government, the video will be released online on the YouTube channel, Being Indian. Sanjay Deshmukh, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Western Suburbs), will also be a part of the video.

Previously, Akshay Kumar supported the UN’s Global Goals campaign advocating the importance of Global Goal No 3 ‘Good Health and Well-Being’. He also recently extended his support for Max Bupa Walk for Health, which aims to inspire thousands of families to walk more to enhance their overall health and well-being.

With over 100 films to his credit in Bollywood and delivering at least three releases on an average each year, Akshay Kumar is undoubtedly the master juggler of Bollywood.

The last few years have seen the actor steal the screen by giving critical performances in thrillers like Holiday, Special 26, and Baby to out and out action masala movies like Rowdy Rathore, winning hearts in family dramas such as Waqt and Patiala House and leaving audiences in splits with laugh riots like Housefull and Singh Is Kinng. It appears that the actor will continue his master streak and will be entertaining his audiences with a thriller (Airlift), comedy (Housefull 3) and a suspense thriller (Rustom) in the year 2016.

Akshay Kumar will be welcoming his silver jubilee in the industry in 2016 with the release of “Airlift”, an edge-of-the-seat thriller based on a real incident which occurred in Kuwait in the 1990s during the time of Gulf War. An Indian businessman, Ranjit Katyal (played by Akshay Kumar) helped in evacuating 1,70,000 Indians, safely, back to their home country at the time of crisis.

The film releases in UK cinemas on January 22, 2016.

Airlift is based on true life events during the tumultuous Gulf War, and is an edge-of-the-seat thriller based on one of the biggest human evacuations in history. An Indian businessman, Ranjit Katyal (Akshay Kumar) played a pivotal role in helping to evacuate 1,70,000 Indians back to their home country at the time of the crisis.

Akshay Kumar gets dizzy again for the Global Goals campaigns challenge

International film megastar Akshay Kumar, is the first Indian personality to get behind the #dizzygoals challenge in support of a major campaign launching on 26th September to make the new Global Goals for Sustainable Development famous.

The Global Goals are a series of ambitious targets to end extreme poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change for everyone by 2030 which will be agreed at the United Nations General Assembly by 193 world leaders.

Using the connection of ‘goals’, the dizzy goals challenge invites personalities and the public to run around a ball until they’re dizzy and then to try score a goal.

The #dizzygoals for The Global Goals campaign is already breaking the internet as some of the world’s leading footballers were challenged to shoot a dizzy penalty.  Real Madrid FC and Wales national football team’s Midfielder Gareth Bale took the first dizzy penalty challenge for The Global Goals. He was followed by former footballer Gary Lineker OBE, former England striker Alan Shearer OBE and Liverpool Football Club players Jordon Ibe and Joe Gomez. In India we have Abhishek Bachchan’s ISL team Chennaiyin FC also took the dizzy goals challenge.

This was the second time Akshay Kumar took the hilarious challenge, this time in Dorset, UK whilst shooting for Housefull 3. The #dizzygoals challenge left India’s undisputed action hero no less than dizzy. In the video Jacqueline Fernandez is also seen cheering Akshay Kumar along.

The Global Goals campaign, aims to make the Global Goals the most famous Goals on the planet by sharing them with 7 billion people in 7 days from the moment they are adopted (26th September – 2nd October). It’s a full circle for Akshay Kumar completing 25 years in the industry

Today, he is one of the world’s biggest film stars, one of India’s highest paid actors and the biggest inspiration for strugglers. Self-made, Akshay Kumar is a man of class for the masses.

He says “Brothers is very close to my heart, it means a lot to me, especially because it is a movie about Martial Arts, which makes it even more important for me. The movie is releasing in August this year, which also coincides with me completing 25 years in the film industry and it means so much to me that this happens to be a movie about martial arts commemorating the accomplishment of my 25 years, when it’s because of my martial arts background that got me into the film industry in the first place. We’re literally going a full circle”

One of the biggest contributors to the Indian film box office, Akshay Kumar’s thirst for cinema and pleasing his fans worldwide hasn’t died. The actor works as hard today as he did when he first made his debut, making around four projects every year.


Akshay Kumar’s ‘Brothers’ gets overwhelming response in the UK

In the United Kingdom, last three releases of Akshay opened to a phenomenal response. Be it Gabbar whose Friday opening was £22,082 or Baby opening to £17,488 and then It’s Entertainment which opened to £35,036. Brothers which released last Friday has garnered a blockbuster opening of £44,880.

Interestingly brothers has received a 15 rating in the UK unlike others which have a 12 rating .

89 year-old grandmother comes to Akshay Kumar’s rescue

Akshay Kumar was in the midst of shooting his new film ‘Singh is Bling’ in Romania when his suit suddenly ripped. This outfit was particularly designed for his climax scene in the film, but it tore unexpectedly, ensuring that the crew had to look for a tailor that could fix the damages instantly.

But it was a local Romanian grandmother that came to Akshay’s rescue and helped the actor with her sewing skills. The grandmother went home, brought her sewing machine and fixed the tear, allowing the filming process to resume again. She must have been extremely talented to fix the tear, since it was a specifically designed suit for the scene.

Seems like Akshay Kumar has many devoted fans all around the world !

Get ready for a testosterone fuelled song which shows the lead actors, Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra of upcoming film ‘Brothers’ in full training mode.

The Brothers Anthem is the latest track to be released, sung by Vishal Dadlani. A fast paced song that is sure to pump up audiences, Akshay’s sequence was shot on top of the Worli Fort where a gym similar to Akshay’s personal one was created, so that they could recreate the type of fitness regime he follows in his personal life.

This song also shows the two distinct styles of David and Monty; David being more of a technical and methodical fighter while Monty is shown to use brute force. The song ends with the appearance of several international fighters who have competed in MMA and WWE who arrive for the tournament.

Akshay gets inked for new film, ‘Brothers’

The superstar actor sports a variety of specially-designed tattoos, as he gets into character. But Akshay Kumar’s loyal legion of fans needn’t worry, as all the tattoos are fake and simply in the name of art.
Always the method actor, Akshay Kumar lost 17 kilos to play the role of David Fernandes, a Catholic Physics teacher with a troubled life and a past shrouded in mystery. To ensure that Akshay’s character looked as authentic as possible, the film crew drew inspiration from the varied looks of the locals inhabiting the Bandra area of Mumbai.
The trailer of Brothers already has over 6 million views on YouTube and is being tipped as one of the blockbusters of the year.
