Star UK’s ambitious Bollywood concert with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif has been postponed. Celebrate Bollywood was earlier due to take place on 1oth July at Hyde Park in London.
An official source from Star UK has confirmed to BollyNewsUK that the concert will now take place in about three months and the artists have agreed to perform at the postponed event.
The reason for the postponement is that after clearing legalities, the channel did not have enough time to market the concert which was supposed to attract over forty-thousand guests. Celebrate Bollywood is being organised by Star UK along with Wizcraft Entertainment.
Besides Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, actor Shahid Kapoor, singer Shreya Ghoshal and Mika Singh are rumored to be part of Celebrate Bollywood which will celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema.
Star UK will now focus on the UK launch of Star Plus HD which will take place in July.
As we reported earlier, Star TV is organising the biggest ever Bollywood concert in the UK this summer. The event will be headlined by superstar Shah Rukh Khan along with Katrina Kaif.
The duo will also be filming the second schedule of Yash Chopra’s yet-untitled-next in the British capital next month.
The concert, which will take place on 10th July 2012, will be planned and conceptualized by Wizcraft, a well-known events management agency.
Star TV will also be launching Star Plus HD on the 5th July 2012 which is a historic development as it will be the first Asian channel to broadcast true HD content in the UK.
‘Celebrate Bollywood’ will take place in London’s Hyde Park and promises to be the biggest and most entertaining concert ever held in the UK with up to 12 Bollywood celebrities performing at the event.
We are told that the concert will last for about three hours and ticket prices will start from £40, although this will be confirmed by Star TV along the full line-up next week.
Stay tuned as we will be bringing you more details about the concert soon!
*Update* The concert has been postponed
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will reportedly headline Star UK’s Celebrate Bollywood concert in July.
The concert will be held on July 10th and will take place in London’s Hyde Park to celebrate 100 years of Indian Cinema.
“10th July let’s celebrate Bollywood in Hyde Park SRK headliner history in the making(sic),” Rajan Singh from Star TV posted on Twitter today.
It will also be the first time that a Bollywood concert will take place in Hyde Park, London’s largest royal park which was also used as a filming location for Yash Chopra’s untitled next.
Earlier Shahid Kapoor was to hold a concert at the park to release the music of Pankaj Kapoors’ Mausam but the event was cancelled due to the London riots.
Star TV is expected to announce the full line-up later this month.
