News Pathaan Shah Rukh Khan

‘Pathaan’ overtakes ‘Brahmāstra: Part One’ as second-biggest Indian release in the UK

The much-awaited and today released Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan is getting the second-biggest release for an Indian title in the UK and Ireland. The film is releasing across 223 locations by Yash Raj Films, one of the oldest Indian studios operating in the territory.

Disney has given Brahmāstra: Part One a wide release last year in around 215 locations. The widest release ever for an Indian title remains with Paramount for Laal Singh Chaddha, which released in 2022 across 350 locations.

Pathaan also marks the widest-ever release for Yash Raj Films, overtaking Thugs of Hindostan which released in 175 UK/Ireland locations. Shah Rukh Khan’s widest UK release pre Pathaan was his own production ZERO at 144 locations, which was distributed here by Yash Raj Films for Red Chilies Entertainment.

The British Board of Film Classification has rated Yash Raj Films’ Pathaan starring Shah Rukh Khan with a 12A classification. Yash Raj Films has released the film midweek on 25th January across UK/Ireland cinemas in Hindi and Tamil in IMAX 2D and 2D with English subtitles.
