Indian film Vikram starring Prabhu Deva, Kamal Haasan, Fahadh Faasil has scored at the UK Box Office. The film is an action thriller written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Raaj Kamal Films International.
Distributor DG Tech LTD released the film in three versions; Tamil, Telugu and Hindi on 3rd June 2022. Vikram collected an impressive £ 399,426 from 67 sites nationwide in its opening weekend, with a site average £5,962 landing at Number 6 on the official UK Box Office Charts.
In its second weekend, 10th-12th June, the sites were reduced to 59 with the film collecting £100,496, bringing the total gross to £692,333.
The film continues the trend of South-Indian films performing better at the UK Box Office than Hindi films, which traditionally dominated the market.
Yash Raj Films‘ period drama film Prithiviraj starring Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar failed to make a mark in its opening weekend, 3rd-5th June. It opened in 101 sites, collecting only £54,911, with a site average of £544.
In its second weekend, 10th-12th June, the sites were remarkably reduced to 18 locations, while the collections dropped to £3,964, with a site average of £220. The total gross after the second weekend stands at £76,740.
Kartik Aryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 released by Rising Star Entertainment has picked up after a slow start, with the fourth weekend bringing in £17,075 from 10 sites, with a site average of £854. The total gross stands at £395,898.
