Zee Studios’ controversial film The Kashmir Files has moved up to number 9 in its second weekend on the UK Box Office charts. The film starring Anupam Kher opened in 18 sites (11.03-13.03) and made its debut on number 15.
The Vivek Agnihotri directorial added more sites, a total of 52, and collected a very impressive £142,982 in its second weekend (18.03-20.03), with a site average of £2,750. The total stands at £261,722. The film also made its debut in Ireland, collecting £10,921 from 4 sites in its opening weekend.
Cinestaan AA Distributors’ Bachchan Pandey starring Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, and Jacqueline Fernandez was the new Hindi film release and opened in 90 sites, raking in £61,468, with a site average of £683, in its opening weekend. The film made its debut on number 14 on the UK Box Office charts.
Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi is officially the highest grossing Indian film in the UK since the pandemic. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali film’s cumulative gross stands at £651,000, with £30,182 from 40 sites in its fourth weekend at the UK box office. The film is released by Paramount Pictures UK.
Prabhas-Pooja Hedge starrer Radhe Shyam, released by Great India Films UK, earned a disappointing £3,366 from 25 sites in its second weekend, bringing the total to £212,552.
S. S. Rajamouli’s period action drama film RRR will open this week across the UK in four languages, including at IMAX, with limited previews starting on 24th March 2022.
