Ali Zafar has revealed that he became friends with actor Varun Dhawan on the sets of his new film Chashme Baddoor.
Varun Dhawan, son of director Dawid Dhawan, made his acting debut in Bollywood last year with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year.
David’s next directorial venture Chashme Baddoor stars Ali Zafar as the leading actor and releases in UK cinemas on 5th April. Zafar spoke to Bollywood reporter Sunny Malik about the film for ISHQ Magazine on the set of his new film Aman Ki Aasha in London.
When asked whether he bonded on the sets with David Dhawan’s two sons Rohit Dhawan, director of Desi Boyz, and Varun Dhawan, Ali Zafar said: “They came on the sets and we have become friends. Varun came to the sets a couple of times. We also hung out afterwards. At that time, his film Student Of The Year, had not released. He is a very good and decent guy. I have great respect for both brothers. They are very humble and grounded. I think, Rohit even contributed a bit to Chashme Baddoor. He often came to the sets and discussed things with his father like the styling etc.”
“David likes to get input from his sons. He wanted the film to look fresh and young, not dated. He wanted to bring in the sensibility of the youth. He managed to do that, I think,” added the Tere Bin Laden actor.
