The iconic song Tathaiya Tathaiya from the original 80s Bollywood superhit, Himmatwala, is still remembered for its splendour and grandeur. Director Sajid Khan recreates the famous number on an even greater scale in his remake of the film.
Farah Khan, who choreographed the remake version, mixed steps from several of yesteryear screen hero Jeetendra’s iconic films such as, Tohfa, Jaani Dost, Mawaali, Jaise Ko Taisa, Aag Aur Shola and Suhaagan.
She said, “If you see the original Tathaiya number, which was mounted on a grand scale, it has less steps. To recreate the magic, I watched the actor’s old films and after retaining one signature step and the essence of the original Himmatwala, I have made it more extravagant and larger scale.”
Another musical highlight in Sajid Khan’s remake is the Michael Jackson number. Chunky Pandey will open the film dancing to the King of Pop’s, Billie Jean.
Himmatwala, produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Vashu Bhagnani, is set to be released in the UK and Worldwide on 29th March 2013.
