Harrdy Sandhu’s song recreated in De De Pyaar De

After mesmerizing the audience with a series of upbeat songs, the makers of De De Pyaar De have now released another smashing track – Hauli Hauli.

A recreation of Garry Sandhu’s popular Punjabi number – Yeah Baby, the electrifying beats of Hauli Hauli, composed by the master of foot-tapping recreations – Tanishk Bagchi, takes the song to another high.

Talking about the song, Tanishk Bagchi said, “Garry is a champ and his ‘Yeah Baby’ is a smashing song. Recreating an already popular song is always a challenge, but I take it positively. I try my best to keep the original feel and vibe of the song intact, while at the same time giving it a fresh treatment and arrangement. I think ‘Hauli Hauli’ is all set to fuel up the dance floors.” Tanishk further added, “Akiv Ali has done a fantastic job with De De Pyar De. The trailer hitting a 50 Million on YouTube is proof what dynamite of a film it’s going to be.”

Penned by Garry Sandhu and Mellow D, the peppy song is crooned by Neha Kakkar and Garry Sandhu. Picturized on Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh and Tabu, the up-tempo song thrives on their infectious energy and wonderfully captures the zestful mood of the film.

Choreographer Bosco Martis said, “Hauli Hauli is a pure party number and it was a lot of fun choreographing it. As it is a promotional track and features many of the film actors apart from Ajay sir, Tabu ma’am and Rakul, so I had to ensure that the hook steps were simple, catchy and looks good on all the actors. Once that part was cracked, it was a smooth sail for me. I must say, I really enjoyed working with all the actors. We had a great time dancing on the song.”

Speaking about the track, director Akiv Ali said, “We wanted to shoot a promotional track that was not only a fun, foot-tapping number but also resonated with the mood of the film. I personally like Garry Sandhu’s ‘Yeah Baby’ very much, and all of us knew this was an apt song for our promotional track. Tanishk has done a fantastic job and I hope this fun number that we all have loved so much finds a place on everyone’s playlist.”

Interview: Ajay Devgn talks about Action Jackson

Ajay Devgn - TennisBollywood hunk Ajay Devgn is returning to UK cinemas with Action Jackson, hitting UK cinemas on 5th December 2014.

Action Jackson is Prabhu Deva’s new family entertainer featuring Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Yami Gautam and Manasvi Mamgai. A fun, small time crook gets entangled with a relentless girl who is convinced that he will bring her good luck. The consequences that result in are hilarious, masala-filled and thoroughly entertaining.

Check out what Ajay Devgn had to say about the film  here:

You are working with Prabhu Deva which means he must have made you dance quite a lot. Was that fun or challenging?
No it wasn’t challenging, I was comfortable because I knew and he knows that I am a bad dancer so it’s his problem not mine. And yes he pushed me on it and he made me very comfortable. I think he made it very easy for me because as Prabhu also says that he studies the body language of an actor and then makes them dance accordingly, which gets easier.

Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha in the song Keeda from Action JacksonYou are doing all kind of movies whether it is a SOS, Satyagraha or Action Jackson. How do you decide on what movies you want to be a part of? What kind of movies would you like to be a part of, which you haven’t done so far?
It just depends. When I hear the script, do I get excited about the script? Then, do I think that the role is challenging enough to do something which will need me and which I can work hard on? Apart from all that, the most important thing is, who is the director? Will he be able to conceive and shoot the way it’s been thought? Also, the producer and the whole team is important because will they be able to execute the way we are talking about and will they be able to release it properly the way the films are released  today? That is very important.

How would you describe Action Jackson, the film?
Completely different I would say. Action Jackson is not an issue based film. It’s a lot of fun, entertainment, comedy, action, emotion and romance. I think it’s shaped up very well. It’s a complete entertainer. I would call it that.

You are working with Sonakshi Sinha again and with Yaami Gautam for the first time. How would you describe your experience?
Sonakshi is very comfortable to work with. I have a great rapport as we did Son Of Sardar together. She is a thorough professional and has got no inhibitions. You know when you ask her to dance, she will just freak out. She is very comfortable. Yami is a very good actress. I worked for the first time with her and it was very comfortable.

Ajay Devgn uses different guns in Action Jackson (1)Many films do exceedingly well at the domestic Box Office but don’t have the same kind of impact overseas. Do you feel, just like in India, actors now need to promote their movies abroad in various cities as well to create the awareness?
I guess so and the mindset is also little different for Indian audience and the audience overseas. But the films are doing well there also and we are trying to push them and promote them overseas as mush as we can and we will do.

Many movies are now released in new territories like Japan and Russia. Do you feel that Action Jackson is a film that can be enjoyed by a non-diaspora audience?
Oh, yes. Action Jackson will appeal to all kind of audiences. Prabhu Deva’s films have appealed earlier to masses but here I think there is a very good connect for the classes also because the film is very stylish, the music is very good, kids will love the film and I think masses would definitely like it because of the action

Eros International will release the much-awaited film in UK cinemas on 5th December 2014.

Sajid Khan compares ‘Himmatwala’ to 80s movies

Ajay Devgn in HimmatwalaBlockbuster director, Sajid Khan, has attempted to recreate the magic of 1980’s Bollywood movies with his Himmtwala remake. He said, “If you talk about the 1980s – what used to happen in 1980s movies – it doesn’t happen any more – the hero’s entry.”

A really tough challenge to which he seems 100% confident will make everyone cheer. “I have designed such an entry for Ajay that I was clapping while I was writing it, I was clapping while I was shooting it. I have given a lot of stress on entry.”

Sajid says that the 80’s film style has experienced the consequences of western cinema idealisation, as if the essence of Bollywood were being lost. “That kind of cinema is coming now only with two stars – Salman Khan and Ajay,” Sajid said, adding that Dabangg and Wanted became big hits because they featured heroism, which is very prevalent in the South.

“In northern India, we are shying away from this and our culture is going more towards western cinema. I wanted to bring that back because I have grown up watching cinema of the 1970’s and 1980’s.”

The director has so far directed three films and all of them were big hits. “I take myself seriously only when I’m making a film. I make it from the audience’s point of view,” he added.

Himmatwala is directed by blockbuster director Sajid Khan, starring Superstar Ajay Devgn and Tammanah.

Presented by UTV Motion Pictures and Pooja Entertainment, the film is produced by Ronnie Screwala and Vashu Bhagnani and releases in the UK  on 29th March 2013.

A source close to the team confirmed Dutt’s presence and said, “Sanjay sir was shooting for his film Policigiri in Hyderabad and when he heard that Ajay sir was shooting for a song sequence ‘Taki O Taki’ he decided to come and visit the sets to watch him dance. Sajid Khan recreates iconic numbers in his remake of ‘Himmatwala’

Ajay Tamanaah in HimmatwallaThe iconic song Tathaiya Tathaiya from the original 80s Bollywood superhit, Himmatwala, is still remembered for its splendour and grandeur. Director Sajid Khan recreates the famous number on an even greater scale in his remake of the film.

Farah Khan, who choreographed the remake version, mixed steps from several of yesteryear screen hero Jeetendra’s iconic films such as, Tohfa, Jaani Dost, Mawaali, Jaise Ko Taisa, Aag Aur Shola and Suhaagan.

She said, “If you see the original Tathaiya number, which was mounted on a grand scale, it has less steps. To recreate the magic, I watched the actor’s old films and after retaining one signature step and the essence of the original Himmatwala, I have made it more extravagant and larger scale.”

Another musical highlight in Sajid Khan’s remake is the Michael Jackson number. Chunky Pandey will open the film dancing to the King of Pop’s, Billie Jean.
