Kareena Kapoor recently shot for a song and scene for Rowdy Rathore, as a friendly gesture for producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali and co-producer Shabinaa Khan. The film stars, Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, and Bebo were recently pencilled in for a cameo.
Shabinaa and Kareena have been close friends for years, so when the designer-turned-producer approached her for this, Bebo agreed immediately. The scene and song were shot in Filmcity last week.
Kareena, one of the highest paid actresses today, did the cameo for free. Her relationship with Shabinaa goes back a long way, to the days when she was dating Shahid Kapoor and Shabinaa was designing for him. When the actress broke up with Kapoor, Khan cut off all personal and professional ties with the actor.
Bebo plays a glamorous character in Rowdy Rathore, and that is all that is known as the details are being kept under wraps. The makers want Kareena’s cameo to be a surprise element in the film.
Kareena confirms, “I have done the cameo for Shabinaa and Sanjay. Both are very dear to me.”
UTV Motion Picture’s Rowdy Rathore will release in the UK on 1st June 2012.
