Renowned for her starring role in films including Piku, Padmaavat & XXX: Return of Xander Cage, the actress has been involved in the creation of her figure from the outset and has even donated the glamourous gown that she wore at the 2016 IIFA Awards.

Expressing her thoughts, Deepika Padukone said, “As a little girl, I was a very curious kid. For me, purpose is something that is very important. However big or small, whatever I am doing in my life, purpose and why we do what we do is very important to me. After I got a call from Madame Tussauds London I was really happy and excited but over a few days, I thought what is the purpose of this? Why are we doing this, or what is it that my fans will remember me for, remember my figure for, what is it that I would like to leave behind?”

Deepika continued: “The cause of mental health is very close to my heart. It is something that I am extremely passionate about. I said that’s it, I would like for my fans, when they see my figure, I hope it reminds them of someone who did something for the cause of mental health, who worked towards creating awareness and destigmatising mental illness. I hope that it gives people a sense of upliftment and a sense of hope. I hope that message comes through.”

Millions of Deepika’s followers across the globe were also able to get in on the action as the star live streamed moments from the big reveal. Katrina Kaif can’t wait to unveil her wax figure in London

Katrina Kaif at L'Oreal AwardsBollywood superstar Katrina Kaif can’t wait to unveil her wax figure at the world-famous London attraction, Madame Tussauds, on Friday 27th March.

Speaking to press about her soon-to-be unveiled wax figure at the  L’Oreal Paris Femina Women Awards 2015 held in Mumbai recently, Kaif said, “It was really exciting when I first heard the news. It is something which will be there forever. I have grown up in London for a few years, so it brings back lot of nice memories. I would be launching it on March 27 in London at the main Madame Tussauds and I am really looking forward to it.”

2015 is the 15th anniversary of Bollywood at Madame Tussauds London, and to celebrate the world-famous attraction has created a glamorous new setting for its Indian film stars, including a brand NEW wax figure of Katrina Kaif, which guests can visit from Saturday March 28, 2015.

The stunning star has become the seventh Bollywood actor to be honoured with a figure at Madame Tussauds London – her inclusion has a special significance as she was voted for by fans*, just as Amitabh Bachcahn was in 2000.

Katrina, who collaborated closely with the Madame Tussauds artistic team to ensure total accuracy, was delighted with the figure, which is portrayed in a dancing pose wearing a beautiful sequined white, silver and gold, two piece outfit.

Katrina’s figure was created by a team of 20 sculptors and artists over a four-month period, using hundreds of precise measurements taken at a sitting in Mumbai and cost £150,000 to create.

The Dhoom:3 actress is currently working on Fitoor with Aditya Roy Kapur and Jagga Jasoos with Ranbir Kapoor. Kaif also filmed for Phantom with actor Saif Ali Khan in the English capital last year, which will release in UK cinemas later this year through Disney UTV.
