Watch: ‘Main Senti Hoon’ – ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’

Yash Raj Films has released the second promo song from their upcoming Y-Films production Mere Dad Ki Maruti. 

The rom-com stars Saqib Saleem and Rhea Chakraborty in leading roles. Saqib had earlier made his debut with Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge under the same banner.

Mere Dad Ki Maruti also stars Ram Kapoor, one of television’s most loved actors as the strict dad in his first full-fledged comedy role.

The film is an outrageous comedy set against the backdrop of a loud Punjabi wedding in Chandigarh. Mere Dad Ki Maruti tells the story of a boy who sneaks his dad’s fancy new car out to impress the college hottie and how all hell breaks loose when he loses it!

Mere Dad Ki Maruti will be the first Y-Films production to be released in UK cinemas on 15th March 2013.

The video of the first song from Mere Dad Ki Maruti, ‘Punjabiyan Di Battery’, has been  released on the YRF YouTube Channel.

Directed by Ashima Chibber and Produced by Ashish Patil, the film stars Saqib Saleem and debutant Rhea Chakraborty along with Ram Kapoor, as the ‘khadoos’ dad in his first full-fledged comedy role.

YRF is becoming the perfect platform for budding talent. After the studio successfully launched Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma in Band Baaja Baaraat followed by Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra in Ishaqzaade, it is now all set to launch Saqib Saleem and Rhea Chakraborty through their youth studio in Mere Dad Ki Maruti. Saqib had earlier made his debut with Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge under the same banner.

The film is an outrageous comedy set against the backdrop of a loud Punjabi wedding in Chandigarh. MDKM tells the story of a boy who sneaks his dad’s fancy new car out to impress the college hottie and how all hell breaks loose when he loses it! As the poster captures the storyline, ‘A wedding, a lost car and one really angry dad’

MDKM also marks the directorial debut of Ashima Chibber who has been associated with some of the most talented directors of our times. Beginning as Shimit Amin’s First AD on Ab Tak Chappan and Chak De India among others, Ashima’s last project was as First Assistant Director to Imtiaz Ali on Rockstar.

Mere Dad Ki Maruti sure promises to be one crazy ride and is set to release in UK cinemas on 15th March 2013.

Yash Raj Films’ youth film studio’s next venture, Mere Dad Ki Maruti is off to a great start as it is the only trailer to be attached to Mr. Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

Mere Dad Ki Maruti’ stars Ram Kapoor, one of television’s most loved actors as the strict dad in his first full-fledged comedy role. And the leads are played by the next two new faces that YRF is launching after Anushka, Ranveer and Arjun, Parineeti namely Saqib Saleem who made his debut in last year’s sleeper hit from Y-Films’ Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge. Proclaimed the ‘Find of the Year’ by critics, Saqib will be romancing another hot new face being launched by Y-Films, Rhea.

Rhea was spotted when she was a finalist in the Ms. Teen International pageant and went on to become the youngest VJ on MTV. Having fine-tuned her acting chops in a South film, directed by Prabhu Deva, she now plays a fun Chandigarh girl who inadvertently becomes the root cause of the hero’s troubles with his car. A great looker, fabulous dancer and full of energy, Rhea promises to be someone to watch out for!

The film is directed by Ashima Chibber and produced by Aditya Chopra.

‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’ Trailer in UK cinemas with ‘JTHJ’

BollyNewsUK has learnt that the trailer of Y-Films’ Mere Dad Ki Maruti will be attached to Jab Tak Hai Hai Jaan.

The trailer of the film starring Saqib Saleem will be played  before Yash Chopra’s final film across UK cinemas from next Tuesday, when Jab Tak Hai Jaan releases here.

Mere Dad Ki Maruthi is an outrageous comedy set against the backdrop of a loud Punjabi wedding in Chandigarh and tells the story of a boy who sneaks his dad’s fancy new car out to impress the college hottie and how all hell breaks loose when he loses it.

Produced by Y-Films, the film also marks  the directorial debut of Ashima Chibber who has previously worked as Shimit Amin’s First AD on Ab Tak Chappan and Chak De India. Ashima was also the first assistant director to Imtiaz Ali on Rockstar.

As Jab Tak Hai Jaan is the biggest release ever for a Yash Raj Films production with over 42 screens just at Cineworld Cinemas in the UK in addition to several screens at Odeon and Vue  cinema chains, the trailer will reach a nationwide audience from 13th November onwards.
