Jai Ho- Salman Khan entertainer grosses Rs. 101.26 worldwide

Jai Ho - UK Release (3)Eros International has announced a strong opening weekend for Jai Ho at the box office with an impressive Rs. 101.26 crore gross worldwide, despite a non holiday weekend. Produced by Eros International and Sohail Khan Productionz, the Salman Khan starrer released across approximately 5000 screens worldwide on January 24th, 2014.

Salman mania once again drove audiences to the ticket counters during the opening weekend and amassed a significant Rs. 78.90 crores gross (Rs. 60.68 crore nett) in India and 22.36 crore (US$ 3.55 million) overseas. At the domestic box office, the film opened Rs. 17.75 crore on Friday followed by Rs. 16.68 crore on Saturday. With fantastic word of mouth, the film’s collections showed a massive jump of 64% on Sunday garnering an attractive Rs. 26.25 crore at the domestic BO office.

Speaking on the film opening, Nandu Ahuja, Sr. VP, India Theatrical, Eros International Media Limited said, “Salman fans have given a huge thumbs up to Jai Ho. The film is packed with Salman style action along with the emotion and message of the human chain of goodness and it has touched the right chord with his fans. This is an outstanding opening and his highest where we didn’t have the added advantage of a long weekend”.

Pranab Kapadia, President, Marketing & Distribution, Eros International plc added, “With January usually being a slow start in the overseas markets, the overseas weekend for Jai Ho was excellent .This also being a non holiday period reflects very well on the film’s opening. It is trending at a similar or better level compared to recent Salman blockbusters”.

Directed by Sohail Khan, Jai Ho also stars Tabu, Daisy Shah and Danny Denzongpa in important roles.

It was an evening to remember for Salman Khan’s fans as the superstar made a smashing entry at a suburban mall in Mumbai (Inorbit, Malad) recently. Salman Khan came in with co-star Daisy Shah, and performed to the foot- tapping numbers from his film, with the crowd cheering on.

Needless to say, Salman’s fans were present in hundreds and cheered for their favorite actor. The superstar interacted with the audiences and instantly connected with them, in his signature style. Salman set the stage on fire with the svelte Daisy Shah as they danced to the latest peppy number from the film, Photocopy. The event was live streamed exclusively on erosnow.com

With just a week left for the release of Jai Ho, the film has movie aficionados waiting with bated breath to watch this action-packed film.

Eros International to release ‘Jai Ho’ in Germany – Cinema Listing

Jai Ho - UK Release (3)Leading Bollywood producer and distributor Eros International has joined hands with UCI Cinemas to release their films in the German market.

The association will start in January with Salman Khan’s Jai Ho.

Eros International has previously released Bollywood films in Germany through other distributors such as Rapid Eye Movies and Bollywood Fever. 

Jai Ho is directed by Sohail Khan and stars Salman Khan, Tabu, Daisy Shah, Ashmit Patel, Sana Khan and others.

In addition to UCI Cinemas, Jai Ho will also be released in a few other cinemas as listed below:

Eros International has released the theatrical trailer of Salman Khan starrer Jai Ho!, directed by Sohail Khan. 


The film also stars Tabu, Danny Denzongpa, Daisy Shah and Nadira Babbar among others and is produced by Sunil Lulla & Sohail Khan.

Synopsis: Jai, an upright common man is fighting a solitary war against corruption and injustice. Honest and incorruptible, he has made it his mission to help as many people as he can. His mantra is quite simple – help somebody and then request that person to lend a helping hand to somebody else – thus forming an ever growing circle of people helping each other.

Jai who is an ex army officer, will not shy away from a battle, however bloody it may get and firmly believes that you do not have to wear an uniform to serve your country. As the politician unleashes his violent goons on the Brave heart Jai, Geeta, Jai’s sister, realizes the horrific consequences this can have on her brother and the rest of their family.

She persuades a reluctant Jai to make peace with the politician. But when this leads to humiliation being heaped on him, Jai loses his cool and declares all out war. It’s an unequal war – on side stand the politician with his numerous henchmen and the other is Jai all alone.

But unknown to him, a silent revolution is taking place. The voiceless people, he has helped in the past, are gathering force. It finally has a voice and this voice cannot & will not be silenced.

EROS to co-produce Salman Khan’s ‘JAI HO’

Eros International has announced that it will co-produce Sohail Khan Productionz’s forthcoming film Jai Ho which has Salman Khan in its lead.

Presented by Eros International, produced by Sohail Khan and Sunil Lulla, Jai Ho is scheduled to release on 24th January 2014 in UK cinemas and worldwide.

The highly anticipated film will be the superstar’s next release after the blockbuster Dabangg 2. Jai Ho is slated to be an out and out entertainer and showcases Salman as a hero of the masses in a socially relevant theme.

Commenting on the announcement, Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, Eros International Media Ltd said, “With Eros associated with most of Salman’s recent releases, we are very happy to extend this relationship with Jai Ho.
