Zee Studios’ latest release Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway starring Bollywood queen Rani Mukerji has had a decent opening at the UK Box Office despite mixed reviews.
Zee gave the film a smaller release compared to their recent titles with only 67 locations. The film released on 17th March and collected £70,588.02 in its opening weekend, with a healthy site average of £1,053.55.
Yash Raj Films’ global release Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar starring Ranbir Kapoor is going strong in its second weekend. The film had the highest site average for an Indian title at the UK Box Office during the weekend of 17th-19th March. The rom-com collected £58,795 from 40 locations, with a strong site average of £1,469.88.
Pathaan, a Yash Raj Films production and release, is still going in its eight weekend, albeit it has dropped to just 6 locations. The film grossed an good £4,273 over the weekend, with a site average of £712.17. The total stands at £4,375,681 – the highest for any Indian title at the UK Box Office in history.
In comparison, Studio Canal’s heavily publicised British Pakistani title What’s Love Got To Do With It? stands at £4,240,498 after its fourth weekend with three times a bigger release.
Kapil Sharma starrer Zwigato only released in 4 locations, collecting £1,629.92, with a site average of £407.48. The film will likely not see a second weekend at the UK Box Office.
