Paramount Pictures UK‘ Bollywood release Laal Singh Chaddha under-performed in its second weekend at the UK Box Office. Despite a wide release for a second session, the film had a poor site average.
The film collected £106,857 from 156 locations, with a site average of just £685 during the weekend 19.08-21.08. It dropped 67.1% from its opening weekend and dropped to Number 13 on the UK Top 15 Charts. The total gross of the film from the Hindi and Tamil versions stands at £702,276. It’s now just behind Paramount’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, which has a total lifetime gross of £710,986.
Tamil-language film Thiruchitrambalam starring Indian superstar Dhanush and released by Big Films Ltd had an impressive opening at the UK Box Office. Released in 75 locations, the film took £132,109, with a site average of £1,761.
Akshay Kumar starrer Raksha Bandhan has failed to make a mark dropping to only 27 locations in its second weekend. The film, released by Zee Studios, collected only £11,065 in its second session with a site average of £410. The total gross of the film stands at £126,127.
Ek Villain Returns is continuing a dream run at the UK Box Office. The film had the highest site average for an Indian title during the weekend 19.08-21.08. Released by DG Tech Ltd for T-Series, the film earned £9,938 in its fourth weekend from 5 locations, with a high site average of £1,988; adding up to a £401,479 total so far.
