Newly released Indian films Runway 34 and Heropanti 2 have under-performed at the UK Box Office during the weekend 29.04-01.05.
Yash Raj Films released the Ajay Devgn starrer Runway 34 in 93 locations nationwide. The film opened at number 15 on the UK Box Office chart, raking in £41,243 over the opening weekend, with a site average of only £443.
Heropanti 2 starring Tiger Shroff, released by Cinestaan AA Distributors, opened in 96 locations, raking in a disappointing £26,222, with a site average of only £273.
Telugu film Acharya starring Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, and Pooja Hegde raked in a decent opening due to previews on 28th April. The film collected £92,624 in total from 65 locations in its opening weekend, with a site average of £1,425. Released by Dreamz Entertainment Limited, the film made £62,663 from 69 previews. The three-day total gross stands at £29,961.
The film took in an additional £6,771 from 9 locations in Ireland, where Akshaye Traders released it, in its opening weekend, with a site average of £752.
Yash Raj Films‘ release Jersey starring Shahid Kapoor took in £1,646 in its second weekend from 6 locations, with a site average of £274. The total gross of the film stands at £34,967.
The Hindi version of K.G.F: Chapter 2 earned £17,771 from 22 locations in its third weekend, with a site average of £808. The total gross of the Hindi version, released by Cinestaan AA Distributors, stands at £475,707.
All other versions in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Telugu were released by DG Tech Ltd (Sun Media) and collected £10,496 from 13 locations in their third weekend, with a site average of £807. The total gross stands now stands at £556,237.
The cumulative gross from both versions, excluding collections from Ireland in the first two weeks, have crossed the £1M in the UK with the total at £1,031,944.
