‘RRR’ UK cinema release postponed

The 7th January 2022 release of the much-awaited S.S. Rajamouli directorial RRR has been postponed. The film was set to be distributed in multiple languages in the UK by Yash Raj Films.

The UK release has been affected by a surge in Omicron Coronavirus cases in India, with the Indian capital Delhi closing down all cinemas. As Indian films always tend to release worldwide on the same day, the UK and worldwide release has been postponed due to the situation in India.

The Telugu version of the film had already been classified with a 15 rating and a runtime of 180m by the British Board of Film Classification

RRR is a fictional story about two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (NTR Jr.), who fought against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad respectively.

The film also stars Ajay Devgn, Alison Doody, Prakash Raj, Ray Stevenson, Alia Bhatt, and Krishna Murali Posani.
