Cake brings RD Burman’s classic Piya Tu back to life

Cake Piya TuUpcoming Pakistani film Cake has brought Bollywood’s legendary music composer and singer, RD Burman into the story as they recreate the famous song Piya Tu Ab Tau Aaja.  Starring Aamina Sheikh, Sanam Saeed and Adnan Malik, the film is already making an impact with the audience as it held sold out Special Screenings in Bradford, Manchester and Birmingham.

Furthermore, London’s West End played host to the stars of the film, as the Red Carpet was laid for the film’s World Premiere at Vue West End joined by a who’s who guest list of celebrities and VIPs for the milestone occasion that marked the first ever World Premiere of a Pakistani film to be held in London’s iconic home for international film premieres, Leicester Square.

Directed by Asim Abbasi, the family drama also stars Mikaal Zulfiqar, Mohammed Ahmed and Beo Zafar in titular roles. Produced by British Pakistani businessman Sayed Zulfikar Bukhari, Cake is all about love, loss, choices and responsibilities. The story unravels when the ageing patriarch of the Jamali family falls ill and his eldest daughter and sole caregiver, Zareen, is forced to reconnect with her sister, Zara, on her return from London.

Cake is set to release in cinemas on Thursday 29th March 2018.
