Karan Johar to speak at World Economic Forum

Bollywood royalty Karan Johar has been invited as a cultural leader to the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.
 
This year, Karan will be participating in a session titled ‘The Weaponization of Culture’ on January 23, alongside names such as Alice Bah Kuhnke, the Swedish Minister of Culture and Democracy, and Arlie Russell Hochschild, a professor of Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley. The session will be moderated by television anchor, Ali Velshi.
 
Karan Johar was invited last year as well where he was in a one on one session with Pakistani activist and filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.
 
Karan Johar says, “It’s an honour to be invited as cultural leader to Davos at the WEF. Davos is a spectacular meeting ground for some of the most prolific men and women from across the globe. It’s inspiring and motivating to be amongst them.”

This year, the WEF’s opening plenary will be delivered by Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on January 23. US president Donald Trump will deliver a keynote address before the close of the meeting on January 26.
