Talvar (Guilty) starring Irrfan Khan (The Lunchbox, Life of Pi) and Konkona Sen Sharma in lead roles, releasing nationwide on 2nd October. Tabu (Namesake) has a special appearance in the film.
The film is the fictional dramatization of true life events around the Aarushi Talwar murder case, known as the“Noida Double Murder Case”
The case revolves around the sensational double murder of 14-year-old Aarushi Talwar and 45-year-old Hemraj Banjade, a domestic help in Noida, India on the night of 15-16 May 2008. Aarushi’s parents were sentence to life for the murders but to this date there has not been any public closure on the case.
The film is directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Vishal Bhardwaj and Vineet Jain of Junglee Pictures.
The film had been selected for world premiere in ‘Special Presentations’ section at the Toronto International Film Festival, which runs from September 10 to 20. The film will also be screened at the BFI London Festival for its European premiere followed by the Busan International Film Festival for its Asian premiere.
