‘Paan Singh Tomar’ wins at the 60th National Film Awards

Paan Singh TomarThe 60th National Film Awards announced yesterday saw UTV’s Paan Singh Tomar walk away with two prominent awards. Best Feature Film and Best Actor for Irrfan.

Paan Singh Tomar, directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia is the hitherto untold true story of a simple farmer, a loyal soldier and a champion athlete who became one of India’s most dreaded dacoits. The film which saw a worldwide release on 2nd March 2012 was critically acclaimed across India and International markets.

“We are proud and honored that Paan Singh Tomar has been conferred with the National Award for Best Feature Film and Best Actor. Tigmanshu Dhulia and Irrfan Khan are the two architects of this film and have literally put their blood, sweat and tears into bringing the poignant tale of Paan Singh Tomar to celluloid.
