Aamir Khan’s forthcoming release Talaash will probably be the last film, where old Bombay will be seen on-screen. Especially where ‘chawls’ , mills and smaller buildings are concerned.
Talaash has been shot extensively at Charni Road, Lower Parel, Colaba, Grand Road and Central Bombay.
Two places where Talaash has been shot in, like the chawl and mill both in Lower Parel, have already given way to construction. After couple of months when the unit went back, they had all broken down, to give way to construction.
For patch work, Reema Kagti had to resort to finding new places or to use CG, where the background and foreground are different, and merged on computer, as within one year, those places had disappeared!
Talaash is shot in real locations as opposed to sets in most instances. The unit had to short list 520 locations and finally chose to to shoot in 47 locations.
Starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Rani Mukherji, Talaash will be released in UK cinemas on 30th November 2012.
