Punjabi artist Talwiinder has brought his forthcoming EP ‘Paiinted Feeliings’ beyond the world of music and into the streets of London, with a special projection mapping activation across Shoreditch, Marble Arch and Tate Modern.
Inspired by the EP’s distinctive visual world, artwork and imagery were projected across some of London’s most recognisable cultural landmarks, creating a striking intersection of Punjabi music, contemporary visual art and the city’s creative landscape. The activation offered fans and passers-by a first look into the world Talwiinder has created around ‘Paiinted Feeliings’.
The London activation follows the release of the second song from the EP ‘Mangda Wapis Kyun”. In collaboration with Kidjaywest & NDS, the track talks about the moment when someone once walked away suddenly wants to find their way back into your life. Whether it’s because they’ve realised they were wrong, genuinely miss you or simply can’t let go, the track captures the push and pull of two people trying to figure out if there’s anything left to go back to.
With Paiinted Feeliings, Talwiinder continues to blur the boundaries between music, visual art and culture, creating a world that exists as much in the spaces around us as it does through sound. If ‘Assay Passay’ looked at the world around us and how they can shape who we become, ‘Mangda Wapis Kyun’ turns inwards, giving a voice to that very real moment when someone from your past comes knocking again.
