Tamil language Indian film Indian 2 opened with positive numbers at the UK Box Office. The film is the sequel to 1996 film Indian and is directed, written with dialouges and screenplay by S. Shankar and starring Kamal Haasan and Siddharth.
The film had a wide release in three languages; Tamil (Original), Hindi and Telugu.
Released on 12th July, the Tamil version raked in £213,245 from 165 sites, with a decent site average of £1,292. The Telugu version Bharateeyudu 2 took £39,128 from 61 with a site average of £641. The Hindi version Hindustani 2 was the lowest performer, collecting just £6,289 from 51 locations, with a low site average of £123.
The total opening gross of the film from all version stands at £258,662.
Punjabi film Jatt & Juliet 3 starring Diljit Dosanjh is now in its third weekend, where it collected £36,495 from 41 locations, with a site average of £890. The total gross of the film stands at an impressive £619,470.
Pan-Indian title Kalki 2898 AD has remarkably slowed down in its third weekend, collecting just £35,789 from 73 locations, a reduction of 106 sites from its second weekend, with a site average of just £490. The total gross is now standing at an impressive £1,392,812. Additionally, the film took in £2,078 from 2 locations in Ireland, with a site average of £1,039. The total gross in Ireland stands at £102,975. The total combined gross of the title in the UK/Ireland territory stands at £1,495,787.
Akshay Kumat starrer Sarfira had an extremely underwhelming performance in its opening weekend. The film only raked in £19,630 from £47 locations, with a site average of £418.
Lionsgate UK’s first Hindi film release, Kill, had a huge drop in locations. The film had a wide release at 236 locations but dropped to just 36 in its second weekend. The takings over its second weekend also dropped -88% at £9,146, with a site average of £254 in comparison to its opening at £74,884, with a site average of £317. The film did seem to perform at certain locations over the first week as the total rose to a £150,448.
The cumulative weekend gross from all Indian titles over the weekend 12th-14th July stands at £411,984.
