UK Box Office: ‘LEO’ smashes records for a Tamil film in its opening weekend

Tamil film LEO has smashed UK Box Office records for a Tamil film in its opening weekend. The film stars South-Indian superstar Vijay along with Sanjay Dutt, Trisha and Arjun. The film crossed the £1M mark in its opening weekend and opened at No.4 at the official UK Box Office chart.

The film opened in 184 locations, collecting a high £1,157,367 with a site average of £6,290. The opening weekend includes £545,447 from 184 previews due to the film having a four-day opening weekend with a 19th October release date. The film also opened in 19 locations in Ireland £79,384, with a site average of £4,178.

Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon delivered yet another dud at the UK Box Office with Ganapath – A Hero is BornThe film opened on 20th October and collected £16,774 from 50 locations, with a poor site average of £335 in its first weekend.

T-Series’ Yaariyan 2 had a disastrous opening with a total of just £4,737 coming to a site average of £175 from 27 locations.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan has considerably dropped in its 7th weekend with a drop of -80% in its weekend collections down to just £3,899 from 11 locations, a drop of -32 sites, with a weak site average of £354. The total gross of the film stands at a historic £3,086,564 – currently the second highest-grosser of all time for an Indian title.
