Bollywood royalty Shah Rukh Khan has made the 2023 TIME 100 Influential People list published today, after topping the 2023 TIME100 reader poll a week ago.
The actor recently made history with Yash Raj Films’ Pathaan, breaking box office recrods for a original Hindi film globally.
Indian film actor Deepika Padukone, who has starred in multiple films with Khan, penned an essay about Khan for TIME. Shah Rukh Khan is India’s most famous actor. He is also a producer and co-owns Indian studio Red Chillies Entertainment with his wife Gauri Khan. He is also the co-owner of the Indian cricket franchise team Kolkata Knight Riders.
The actor made his mark as Bollywood’s favorite romantic hero, starring in UK record-breaking blockbusters like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. His decades-long career has seen him star in more than 100 films.
